Rome is a magical city from which to base your southern Italy tour.
Join us in a half-day guided orientation tour highlighted by views from Palatine Hill, Arch of Constantine, The Forum and a visit inside the striking Colosseum. Your audio-phone walks you through the history of this infamous monument.
Today our half-day guided tour takes us to Vatican City for a walk through St. Peter’s Basilica & the Sistine Chapel.
You are free to explore the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, or The Appian on your own. You could even take a train to Florence, home to many world class art museums.
Today we head south, past the infamous Mt Vesuvius, to the Amalfi Coast. A local guide will show us the wonders of the Pompeii ruins before we settle into our hotel in Sorrento.
A guided half-day tour takes us along the cliffs of the Mediterranean Sea through the Moorish hill-side town of Positano to Amalfi, where we’ll go into the Emerald Grotto cavern. Finally, we’ll explore the sleepy village of Ravello.
We’ll board the hydrofoil for the 1/2 hr ride to the fabled Isle of Capri. Your choices are varied; visit the stunning Blue Grotto, ride the Funicular to the town of Capri where you can have lunch on Piazza Umberto I, then walk down Via Vittorio Emanuele for great views.
Say Ciao to Italian friends as we depart from Rome Airport
